100+ Women Who Care

Central Louisiana

How often do you meet?  We meet four times a year - once a quarter in January, April, July & October, usually on the third Tuesday of each month.

How long are the meetings?  We like to call them gatherings because they are more fun than meetings, but, they begin at 5:30 pm and end at 6:30pm.  You are welcome to come a little early or stay a little later just to socialize more.

What happens at each gathering?  Our gatherings are held in various places each quarter.  When you arrive, you will sign in and get a name tag. You will then have some time to socialize, eat and drink.  Then, we will briefly hear from a few local non-profits, take a vote by secret ballots and each member will write a check for $100 to the chosen non-profit.

What if I cannot attend a gathering?  If you cannot attend, you have two choices:

1.  Send your signed, blank check with a friend.  They can be your proxy and can vote on your behalf; or

2. You will be notified after the gathering who received the donation.  You can either make your $100 check out to the charity  send within 5 days of the gathering to:  PO Box 12802, Alexandria, LA 71315 or you have an option to pay with a credit card or by direct withdrawal from a bank account.

How do I set up to pay with a credit card or through a withdrawal from a bank account?  Please click on "Payment Options" on the title bar for all the information on how to easily do this.  We use a platform called Grapevine and there is no charge to us for their services.  If you use a credit card, you will pay a small fee for this convenience.  But bank withdrawals are free.

How do I join?  You can join by clicking the "Join Us" tab on the title bar and filling out the Membership Commitment Form.  You will remain a member unless you ask us to remove you from membership via email or letter.  If we have trouble getting your check, you will also be removed from membership.

How are non-profits selected to receive funding?  A local non-profit must apply to be considered. (See Non-Profits page on this website for more information)  At three of our quarterly meetings, three approved non-profit organizations are randomly selected to speak at the gathering.  A vote is taken and majority rules.  (At one quarterly meeting each year, the donation will go to Arts & Healthcare, Inc. as founder and administrator.)

Is my donation tax deductible?  Yes, as only 501(c)(3) non profit organizations are sponsored.  You will write your check directly to the non-profit, not to 100 Women Who Care, Central Louisiana.

If I miss a gathering, can't I just send my check directly to the non-profit?  No.  We must account for all checks so that you get credit for the donation.  And, it makes a much bigger impact when we can join forces and give the non-profit a larger donation all at once.

Can I bring a friend to a gathering? Of course you can! However, in order to vote they will have to sign a MEMBERSHIP COMMITMENT FORM and become a member. We will have forms available at each gathering.

What do you do with my personal information?  100 Women Who Care, Central Louisiana collects your personal information (including name, address, email address, phone number) strictly for the purpose of maintaining our membership list. 100 Women Who Care will not sell, give or otherwise share your personal information without your express consent. We do like to recognize our members via social media and other venues. If a member would like to remain anonymous they must let us know at the time of joining.
